Objective To analyze the epidemic characteristics and trends of other infectious diarrhea (OID) in Jiaojiang District, Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province from 2013 to 2023, providing a basis for formulating of prevention and control measures for OID. Methods By relying on the data platforms of the "China Disease Prevention and Control Information System" and the "Public Health Emergency Management Information System," we systematically collected relevant data on OID cases from 2013 to 2023, and then conducted an in-depth analysis of the dynamic evolution patterns and epidemiological characteristics of intestinal infectious diseases in Jiaojiang District. Results From 2013 to 2023, a total of 11,576 OID cases were reported in Jiaojiang District, with no fatalities recorded. The annual reported incidence rate was 147.15 per 100,000 population, showing a a general danward trend (P < 0.05). The peak incidence periods were concentrated in July-September and December-January of the following year, with bacterial infections predominating in summer and viral infections in winter. Geographically, Dachen Town had the highest incidence rate (328.16/100,000), while Sanjia street had the lowest (92.48/100,000).Among the cases, there were 6475 male cases and 5101 female cases. The incidence rate was the highest in the < 1-year-old group, mainly among scattered children. In terms of etiological distribution, among the 4127 laboratory-confirmed cases, 674 cases completed etiological testing. Among them, rotavirus accounted for the largest proportion at 55.64%, norovirus accounted for 19.14%, Salmonella accounted for 13.12%, adenovirus accounted for 8.61%, other bacteria accounted for 2.82%, and Vibrio parahaemolyticus accounted for 0.59%. Except for August and September when the proportion of bacferial infections was higher than that of viral inefections, viral infections were the main cause in the other months. Conclusion During the period from 2013 to 2023, the overall annual incidence rate of OID in Jiaojiang District showed a fluctuating downward trend year by year. The peak incidence periods were mainly concentrated in summer and winter. The patient group was mainly in the < 1-year-old age group. Among them, Rotavirus was the main pathogen type causing OID in this area.
